Ledakan Bom Irak Tewaskan Banyak Korban

Ketika orang berkerumun, ledakan kedua yang lebih kuat terjadi di dekat mereka, menyebabkan banyak korban.

Pemboman itu muncul sehari setelah ibukota Irak mengalami serangan terburuk sejak Agustus.

Seorang tukang cukur di Kota Sadr, Hassan Rahim, mengatakan ia sedang memotong rambut pelanggan ketika ledakan pertama terjadi.

“Kami bergegas keluar toko dan kami melihat api dan asap di dekat bangunan-bangunan (di tempat itu),” katanya dikutip BBC.

Dia kemudian kembali ke toko untuk meneruskan pekerjaannya, dan bom kedua pun meledak.

“Saya melihat orang tewas di tanah dan beberapa mobil terbakar,” kata tukang cukur itu.

“Kami membantu membawa korban luka ke rumah sakit hingga ambulan-ambulan datang.”

“Pasukan keamanan harus bekerja lebih baik, kalau tidak ingin ada lebih banyak serangan di Kota Sadr,” katanya.

Menurut Rahim, sebagian besar warga di kota itu merasa bahwa pasukan keamanan tidak bisa melindungi mereka.

Pada Rabu lalu, 22 orang tewas ketika dua pembom bunuh diri meledakkan kendaraannya di dua tempat terpisah hampir bersamaan.

Satu pembom menyerang kantor polisi al-Wiya di Baghdad pusat, dan pembom lainnya meledakkan mobilnya di sebuah pemeriksaan polisi di lingkungan perumahan sibuk, Hurriya.

Enam tewas dalam ledakan bom lainnya pada hari yang sama dan sedikitnya sembilan orang tewas dalam tiga ledakan di Baghdad pada Senin lalu.
