Inilah Motor Tercepat Sejagat Raya

Ling up,extremmepoint.com - Menciptakan pesawat super kencang mungkin menjadi hal biasa bagi para insinyur pesawat terbang di Inggris. Entah bosan atau ingin mencoba inovasi baru, mereka mencoba menciptakan motor super cepat di jagat raya.

Seperti dilansir The Sun, Kamis 15 September 2011, Paul Anderson (56), seorang insinyur pesawat Airbus bersama rekan seprofesi menyiapkan motor modifikasi Harley-Davidson, yang mampu memecahkan rekor sebagai motor tercepat di dunia.

Motor yang dibangun di garasi Paul ini pun ditargetkan untuk mampu berlari cepat hingga kecepatan 250 mph atau sekitar 402,3 km/jam. Dengan kecepatan itu, Paul berharap mampu mematahkan rekor kecepatan yang ada di tanah Inggris yang saat ini tercatat ada di kecepatan 222 mph atau sekitar 357,2 km/jam.

Untuk mewujudkan impian itu, Paul bekerja sama dengan sesama insiyur Airbus Andrija Ekmedzic dari Serbia dan Richard Spencer. Tidak hanya itu, ia juga mengajak sahabatnya Garry Morgan, dan seorang pelajar berusia 16 tahun dari Bristol Grammar School, Connor Galbraith.

"Membuat motor ini, kurang lebih seperti mainan yang mengasikkan bagi pria. Karena kita semua tertarik di bidang engineering, dan ini adalah salah satu sarana untuk mengasimilasikan kemampuan kita bersama," kata Paul.

Pria yang gemar memacu motor dengan kecepatan tinggi ini, mengatakan motor tersebut masih dalam tahapan untuk dirampungkan. Namun, mereka berharap motor tersebut dapat meraih sukses pada ujicoba di musim semi mendatang.

"Kita telah mengunakan wind tunnel untuk membangun kecepatan motor tersebut dan juga mengunakan software teknologi terkini untuk memantaunya," jelasnya.

Dewa Slavic

Soal nama yang akan diberikan kepada motor itu, Paul dan teman-temannya memutuskan untuk memberi Svarog, yang berarti seorang dewa dari bangsa Slavic.

"Svarog dikenal sebagai pandai besi dan direperesentasikan dengan roda api yang menyala, yang tentu saja kita ambil sebagai simbol tim kita," paparnya.

"Mungkin nama tersebut dengar agak aneh, tapi desainer utama kami adalah orang Serbia dan itu cocok dengan kami," lanjut dia

Bahkan selain ingin membuat motor ini menjadi motor tercepat di dataran Inggris, tim tersebut juga sedang bersiap untuk membuat sebuah jet darat yang diproyeksi dapat mencetak rekor kecepatan yang saat ini berada di angka 375 mph atau sekitar 603,5 km/jam. (ynt)
