“Peringatan sudah dilakukan dengan keras kepada 4(empat) bank Syariah
diwilayah kerjanya atas produk gadai emas. Keempat Bank tersebut harus tetap menerapkan prinsip kehati-hatian, baik untuk keberlangsungan nasabahnya maupun bank itu sendiri,” kata Laksono Dwionngo, Deputi pemimpin bidang pengawasan perbankan KBI Malang.
Dia menambahkan,”Jangan hanya karena mencari profit dan untuk menuruti permintaan pasar, justru bank bersangkutan menjadi sakit dan nasabah sendiri juga dirugikan karena bank itu bermasalah. Potensi layanan gadai emas itu menjadi tidak sehat terkait dengan harga emas yang fluktuatif (naik turun), sehingga sulit untuk diprediksi, apalagi harga emas tersebut mengikuti harga minyak dunia.”
“Jika perbankan yang seperti itu haruslah cerdas menyiasati risikonya, minimal memiliki dana cadangan lebih, jika tidak ingin bermasalah. KBI sendiri tidak perlu melakukan tindakan lanjutan, misalnya menjatuhkan sanksi. Tetapi empat bank syariah yang telah diperingatkan itu masih menunjukkan sinyal untuk perbaikan kinerjanya. Bank lain yang akan menambah layanan gadai emas juga harus memenuhi rambu-rambu yang telah ditetapkan,” pungkas Laksono kepada extremmepoint,com.
Menurut Totok Hermiyanto, Pimpinan Kantor BI Malang,”Gadai emas memang sedang menjadi tren terbaru terutama dalam layanan perbankan syariah. Nanti valuenya akan dibatasi sampai 80 persen, karena 20 persennya untuk menghadapi risiko pasar. Namun, kebijakan ini masih menunggu respon pemerintah sehubungan pengaturan BBM," katanya.
Bank Syariah yang terkenalnya mempunyai konsep Islam melakukan praktek demikian adalah rawan sekali terhadap image umum karena pandangan secara umum bahwa konsep Syariah itu lepas dari yang namanya gadai sebatas bunga sesuai dengan Alqur’an dan Alhadist. (TIMSUS)
